"Sustainable Development in an Urban Environment: A New Beginning for the U.S.?"

Dale Medearis : Senior Environmental Planner, Northern Virginia Regional Commission (NVRC)

At the NVRC, Mr. Medearis directs international partnerships within the European Network of Metropolitan Areas and Regions (METREX).

After a long career, he left the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in 2007.  In April 2008, he created the first formal partnership within the energy and climate sectors between 40 large U.S. cities and the European network of METREX.
